VaYaar Menuchah; a history of the Oral Tradition from the time of the Anshei Kneses HaGedolah until the redaction of the Mishna

This is a beautifully printed, 518 page hard cover edition, written in clear Hebrew, based on the classic encyclopedia of Jewish history, “Doros HaRishonim” by Rabbi Yitzchok Eizak HaLevi.
Rabbi Yitzchok Eizak HaLevi was a student of the Beis HaLevi in Volozhin and a true Godol B’Yisroel. He worked together with Rav Yitzchok Elchonon Spektor on many of the problems that faced the communities of pre-war Europe and was sought after for his Torah knowledge and counsel by thousands of Jews. His essays in Doros HaRishonim contain a world of information and historical analysis. The frustrating problem, however, is that Doros Harishonim is almost impossible to study. Its contents are not in alphabetical order, there is no comprehensive index and the wealth of information contained in the 8 volume set is somewhat overwhelming.
Welcome to “VaYaar Menuchah” an easy to read, one volume synopsis of Doros Harishonim. Those that know me understand how important it is to me to understand the historical background of the words and stories of our sages. Without this context we are merely scratching the surface of the richness of their words.
I picked up “VaYaar Menuchah” before Shabbos and couldn’t put it down. Historical mysteries were solved, stories from the Talmud I never understood began to make sense and I developed a new appreciation for the unbelievable greatness of our sages.
We have a limited number of “VaYaar Menuchah” by Yuda Shoenfeld in stock. I’m not sure if it is available anywhere else.
